Lovely Day @ the Beach

Today we were woken up by motel maintenance telling us to move the jeep because they were pressure-washing the sidewalk...? After that we got up and headed to Destin, FL with Aunt Patty & her sister Jeannie for a day at the beach!

The beaches here are absolutely gorgeous!! The water is a beautiful green and the sand is chalk-white and so fine it looked like pure sugar! It was too bad that the water was full of seaweed and algae otherwise it would have been perfect...

We ate lunch at The Crab Trap, and then headed over to a local seafood market for some shrimp, and by "some" shrimp, I mean 10 POUNDS!! But it was goooooood! We ate over at Patty's brother Jeff's house where he has a man-made fish pond & fountain, as well as a separate, air-conditioned pool table room that is finished from planks of wood milled straight from the trees taken off his land! We also got to try some moonshine home-made by a neighbor, and it tasted JUST like Apple pie & didn't even have a burn... dangerousss!

Now we're "fixin" to go to bed (yes, they really say that down here!) and tomorrow afternoon we'll be headed to Looozeeeyannah! :-)
