The Trip

After leaving our jobs, giving our parents a few more gray hairs, and selling/storing all of our personal belongings, we are hopping into a 2002 Jeep Wrangler with 131,000 miles on it and hitting the road! Taking the southern route, we will be stopping & staying with friends/family along the way, final destination: Northwestern CO where we will stay & work for the winter season... From there, nobody knows!

The Last Night in NC

Since our last night in CT was spent singing away to the karaoke machine, we decided it was only fitting to leave NC in the same fashion... We went to Amos Mosquito's (named after the popular knock-knock joke!) and knocked 'em dead! When the crowd started thinning out, we decided to check out another spot that we heard about on the radio, but when we got there they were already closed- at 12:00!! Apparently after labor day in this area of NC- everything shuts down early, reduces their hours/staff, and doesn't care if there are people still willing to spend their money, because it's the end of the season! So we snuck onto the beach behind the bar and went for a stroll in the cooled-off sand, listening to the waves crashing nearby. It was a gorgeous evening!

Despite our plans to get up a little "early" and get ready to leave this morning, our eyes cracked open around 11:30am and now, at 1:00pm, we are still in our pajamas, just finishing 'breakfast'! So much for an early start! However, we are still planning on leaving today (at some point), and heading on to Florida!

Much thanks to Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Libby for their generous hospitality and showing us how to live the good life in NC! We had a great time staying with you and hope you enjoy the rest of the nice weather before it gets too 'cold' ;-)
p.s.- I think it's 5:00!!
