The Trip

After leaving our jobs, giving our parents a few more gray hairs, and selling/storing all of our personal belongings, we are hopping into a 2002 Jeep Wrangler with 131,000 miles on it and hitting the road! Taking the southern route, we will be stopping & staying with friends/family along the way, final destination: Northwestern CO where we will stay & work for the winter season... From there, nobody knows!

Hollywood!

We originally only wanted to see the Hollywood sign and snap a few shots of it, at the closest possible viewpoint. However, since we were there, we figured we might as well see some of the other features of the world-famous city... We did a little bit of the walk of fame to see the stars in the sidewalk, and saw notables such as Marilyn Monroe, Cloris Leachman, Desi Arnaz, Boris Karloff, Tina Turner, Nat "King" Cole & Natalie  Cole, Ringo Starr & John Lennon, Garth Brooks, Mickey Rooney, Perry Como, The Apollo XI Crew, Vincent Price, and Bob Hope!

A few blocks away, we visit the famous Guitar Center, where we found the handprints of many famous Rock'N'Rollers, such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Van Halen, Queen, The Smashing Pumpkins, Scorpions, George Clinton & The P-Funk All Stars, Motley Crue, Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper, Frank Zappa, James Brown, Carlos Santana, ZZ Top, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Jethro Tull, Johnny Cash, BB King, KISS, Aerosmith, and Blondie. They also had face plaques of many Hall of Fame inductees, such as Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix,Elvis Presley, John Lennon, Miles Davis, Dimebag Darrell, and many others.

After that, we decided to be ultimate tourists and check out the Ripley's Believe-It-Or-Not Odditorium where we saw many, many odd things, including a Genuine Vampire Killing Kit cerca 1850, and a tried-and-true chastity belt...

We finally hit the road again and headed North along Highway 1, although by the time we got to the coast, it was already dark so we missed the epic sunset over the Big Sur... We stopped at the Costanoa KOA near Half Moon Bay and camped for the night.
